A home shrine, built together
My mother's idea, and the largest thing the two of us have built together. Turned pillars and finials, a gilded back panel, brass bells strung along the beam, and drawers below for the small everyday things a shrine goes through — matches, wicks, oil. We use it every day. The band of symbols across the front is woodburned entirely by hand — the same tool, and the same technique, as the very first dragon in this collection. The whole thing, in a sense, closes back on where it started.
